That area of the C&O canal is such a great place to get cool shots!
We saw a similar picture by flickr user pianoman75 that captures the same place (lock #4 on the C&O canal)in such a different light, that it actually looks welcoming!

Speaking of strange high-pitched noises... has anyone who goes to the Waterfront Safeway noticed that there's this squeaking coming from something in the store? It's only been happening in recent months. It almost sounds like a sneaker rubbing against the floor, but it's too frequent and regular for that. It's kind of annoying and I don't know how it doesn't drive the employees crazy.
