Go Home Already: The One With the Waggly Tail

>> A new D.C.-based web site from the Center for Independent Media officially launched today: The Washington Independent "aims to combine the best of the old and new media by combining the reporting, accuracy and fairness of traditional journalism with the speed, voice and community of the Web." It's always exciting to see investigative journalism find a new online home, though of course, we'd love it even more if they tackled at least some local D.C. issues in addition to the national news stories they're already running. You can add their RSS-feed here.

I feel obliged to mention that:
1- neither flash suppressors nor body armor are much used by deer hunters.
2- The whole "I'm not a criminal because these are my grandfather's guns and I only use them as a licensed hunter in VA" line fall flat if the guns are not licensed in DC (which his grandfather could have done pre-death in 1972, and which presumably would expire with his grandfather's death), and
3- The guy couldn't look either the camera or the reporter in the face while giving his story. Classic "shifty-eyed" behavior.

Sad and lame.

my friend was almost manhandled by metro the other day when his card didn't swipe. is this some new tactic?

The day a station employee tries to manhandle me when my SmarTrip doesn't work is the day that station employee's ass ends up on the ground, bitches.

If your card doesn't register, don't you normally go to the station manager to see what the problem is? Most normal people do. Jumping the turnstile is pretty juvenile. Maybe that's why they grabbed her like you do a young child that's being a little shit.

What the fuck, have you ever used the Metro before? Often, when someone swipes their SmarTrip too quickly as the person in front of them is going through the faregate, it isn't too hard to squeeze your way through just as it's closing. I would imagine this is what happened.
