Photo of the Day: January 28, 2008

There are only two words to describe the photos in the DCist pool from over the weekend: pretty colors! Thank goodness you guys haven't succumbed to the winter blues yet, because some of us over here are already getting sick of our sweaters and overcast mornings. You got the glittery reds, the fiery oranges, the leafy greens, the, uh, coin-operated blues, and even some poisonous rainbows.
We really loved this shot by mays.hays of the band Honor by August, who have moved up from the local Georgetown U. modern rock scene to headline their very first show at the 9:30 Club on Saturday. We hear they sounded great, but we know for sure they looked great with this killer green lighting. (In fact, all his photos from this concert are pretty sweet.) EXIF.
Thanks to everyone who made it out to our photographers meet-up yesterday at Rocket Bar and went on the photowalk to the National Building Museum; it was by far our biggest yet, with at least 40-50 people in attendance. We hope to make these a little more frequent, so feel free to leave your suggestions for future venues here or on the discussion board.

Thank you for choosing my photo and for all of your kind words!
In case anyone is wondering, the lights from HBA's show was done by Pulse Lighting. Thus, the amazing photos! Check them out at concertlighting.com.
I got a couple decent shots of the show as well. It was a great show, Honor By August really stomped it, and I know they were nervous. Congrats to Brian, Evan, Michael and John!
I also got some great shots from the show. Pulse lighting really brought the heat!!
