Voting Rights Movement Goes on Field Trip

2008_0109_newhampshire.jpgAs we mentioned yesterday, Mayor Adrian Fenty, D.C. Council Chair Vincent Gray, eight members of the council and the District's Shadow Delegation are in New Hampshire today to testify in favor of legislation that would express the Granite State's regret that its two senators voted against a measure that would grant the District a voting seat in the House of Representatives.

While Fenty was in New Hampshire yesterday -- he was on stage during Barack Obama's concession speech -- the rest of the District's delegation set off this morning. If you want an idea of what flying Southwest with eight members of the D.C. Council is like, check out Shadow Representative Mike Panetta's trip blog and Twitter page. He let us know that he'll try and have periodic updates on the trip and the hearing. Apparently he's already managed to help two Council members through iPod crashes.

It's like a field trip for grown-ups, and we'll have the inside scoop! Now which member of the council will be the first to pee themselves?
