It Begins ... Campaign TV Ads in Washington Region

Wonkette says this campaign ad for GOP front-runner Sen. John McCain will start playing locally now that the "Potomac Primary" on Feb. 12, made up of Maryland, D.C. and Virginia, is one of the next big strategic primary dates on the calendar.

Below is the one of the two ads Sen. Barack Obama is now running in Maryland.

UPDATE: This video is running in Maryland, according to Obama's campaign web site linked previously. But the end of the video has the wrong election date for Maryland (it asks Maryland voters to vote on Feb. 5) -- so we can imagine (or at least hope) that this is not the exact spot that's running in the state right now. Eep! This video, which is also running in Maryland, has the correct date listed at the end.

Have you seen or heard any other television or radio ads all of a sudden today? Let us know in the comments.

Barack has been playing ads on DC area stations since Super Bowl Sunday. Haven't seen any from anyone else.

i saw two McCain ads friday night at Lucky Bar. i think they had CNN on, but of course that coule have been a national ad.

haven't seen anything else since Obama's ad in the Super Bowl.

Saw a McCain ad Tuesday night

at first I was kinda excited to see the Obama ad on Super Bowl Sunday 'cause I don't ever remember seeing any in the area in my whole life so it was cool...then I saw it FIVE TIMES on Sunday alone and I realized I would have preferred going back to when our area didn't matter when it comes to primaries.

Obama's actually been running ads since last Friday. Still waiting for Clinton.

saw an obama ad during the simpsons last night. i can only assume that walnuts will be running his during murder she wrote and matlock re-runs.

I've been seeing Obama ads for at least a week, but I saw my first McCain spot only over the weekend.

wow, i didn't realize that romney doesn't worship reagan! what are we going to do? i mean, we love ronnie raygun so much here in dc, what with renaming 16th street after him, as well as the airport, that we better vote for mccain....

....on second thought, i'm not a republican. forgot about that.
