We just wanted to take a moment to remind you that the opening reception for the second annual DCist Exposed Photography Show is exactly one week away -- next Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.. Our 44 photographers have been getting their winning entries expertly printed and framed and will be delivering them to Civilian Art Projects in mere moments. The wine is being chilled and seats for Emerge Exposed are filling up fast. All engines are GO, friends.

For a sneak preview, take a moment to browse through our list of winners. Wouldn't one of these prints look just great on your living room wall? Each framed photo will be for sale at reasonable prices (some of last year's winners sell their prints for three to five times as much now, just sayin'), so bring your checkbook to the reception in case you find that must-have piece of art.

Never bought a piece of art before? Consider attending our panel discussion on Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. The Pink Line Project and Civilian Art Projects will host four folks who will answer all your questions when it comes to becoming an emerging art collector. Most of all, remember that the exhibition is to celebrate not just the winners, but all the talented photographers who walk through this city finding the unique images we see everyday in the DCist Flickr pool and use on our site. We all know -- our photographers most of all -- that Washington, D.C. is more than a federal enclave of bureaucratic buildings, and we can't wait to see the 2008 Exposed show bring our vibrant city to life.
