Late Night Shots Reality Show Updates

2008_0228_LNS%282%29.jpgThe Washington City Paper's Angela Valdez provides a two-pronged update today to the monstrosity that could be the Late Night Shots reality TV show we told you about earlier this month.

In a piece over at Campus Progress, she interviews Havva Eisenbaum, the producer of the pilot, who says that they've already had "nibbles of interest from networks" who might end up picking it up once the pilot is completed. Considering how many reality TV show pilots are produced every year that never see the light of day, that's not really saying much, but Eisenbaum does have a proven track record, and shows of this vein, like Laguna Beach and The Hills, have proved to be some of the most popular reality shows ever produced.

Then in a post on City Desk, Valdez, the author of the City Paper's infamous cover story that went behind the scenes of the Georgetown-based, invite-only social networking site, reports that the production company is hosting a casting call tonight at the ultra-exclusive The Park at 14th - and hopes someone else will fill her in on the details.

Will someone please attend this and report back? I think I will get stoned if I go. Someone on LNS just posted a link all about how I am a whore. Someone else said I have a “level of fascination with this site that I’m not sure I’m comfortable with.” Believe me, I am not comfortable with it either. It’s a very sick fascination.
We'd encourage some of you to attend the casting call just to help Angela out, but given how difficult it apparently is to get in to The Park at 14th on a regular night (it's an "invite-only" lounge), it's probably not worth the trouble.

Their website deserves a punch in the server. But I suppose if I'm visiting their website to figure out where this place is, then I already don't qualify to go there. Well done, The Park at 14th. You win again.

God please let his show happen...This will be the biggest trainwreck on TV since Rock of Love.

Finally, a lounge that white people can enjoy.

Jeezus, these guys are so fake. I bet when they go take a leak, they wink at the urinal cake and give it the old thumbs-up sign.

I tried to get in but my penis was, oh so very slightly, too big.

this is the military's chance to test out their new douchebag-seeking missile technology

Something tells me these are the types that leave the seat down and pee on the rim just for spite. Boys and girls.

the park at 14th? i feel good that i had never heard of this joint until right now. now first things first - who's bringing the gasoline?

I was under the impression that DC was inhospitable to reality tv filming. I thought that shows had applied for a license in the past and not been granted it. I'm positive that Dave Attell tried and failed to get a permit to film Insomniac and I thought I heard rumors that Real World also tried and failed (and I'd be really surprised if they hadn't tried yet).

What makes these producers think they'll have any more luck?

cuz some bonehead senator's lil' princess asked him to put some pressure on our city. But daddy, WhYahWhy?

Daddy.

Why don't you shut up.

THROUGH THE CRUSH CAN I SEE.. OUR DESTINY.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

Reid - City Paper did a piece a few years back on why Real World has yet to do a DC show. MTV reps kept assuring the report that a show was on the books, but the subtext was that DC just wasn't trendy/beautiful/hiptardy enough.

Maybe these Late Night S**ts will prove them otherwise.

didn't No Reservations just film in DC?

didn't No Reservations just film in DC?

or does that even count as a reality show?

The secret to LNS is that the shots are not administered orally...why do you think they call it social lubrication?

The red carpet and velvet rope of Park at Fourteenth are no match for the swarm of K Street worker bees heading towards the McPherson Square Metro station!

And if I remember correctly wasn't their in-fill building formerly the site of a carryout place, nestled between two office buildings, and stood abandoned for many years?

The Park at 14th is east of 18th street. Are they even allowed to go there past dark?

I remember rumors years past that Real World was going to be filming out of a converted mansion in Kalorama, but high-brow neighbors nixed the idea. I have no idea if that was based on any sort of reality, but it was cool to bash the hoighty-toity Kaloramans for their h8.

It would be kinda cool to have it filmed somewhere east of the river. And to have the residents yell at the cast like when they filmed in Philly and the locals kept heckling the cast and ruining filming.

Real World hasn't been the same since they kicked off Puck.

looks like you need a primer on creating links there, RJ

It would be cool, but it would never happen and there are plenty of obnoxious jerkoffs west of the river who would be more than happy to heckle a Real World cast.

Shit, I'll heckle them if they try filming in my neighborhood, and I live in white ass Northwest.

So that's what that place is. Their valet parking guys totally had the street blocked last Saturday night.

I said some really mean things, which I regretted, but now I don't regret them anymore.

No! These douchebags cannot represent DC on national TV! We have enough douchebags doing that on Capitol Hill. I'd much rather have the contrived diversity of a Real World cast. At least they will not go to Smith Point every Friday night.

The Park is not a white-bread LNS type of place. I think if the LNSers see the gallery on the website many will be scared off. :)

I think the website for that douchebaggy club just planted malware on my computer...
