Small Fire Forces Woodson High Evacuation

flames%282%29.jpgCity Desk reported earlier that a fire had broken out at Woodson Senior High School in Northeast this morning, forcing an evacuation and the disruption of classes. Mike DeBonis reported that the fire erupted in a janitor’s closet on the 5th floor of the school, located at 5500 Eads St. NE, and that fire department officials were investigating the incident as a possible act of arson.

The AP follow up, via WJLA, says the fire was on the 6th floor, and that several small fires have been deliberately set at Woodson during this academic year. Think there was a big test today?

Luckily, no injuries were reported, and it looks like the school was only evacuated for a little over an hour due to smoke. Here's hoping the Woodson arsonist is caught soon.

While not generally amusing, I must admit, given Monkey's recent call for a metro trifecta, the title gave me a chuckle.
