New Metrobus Route NH1, Other Bus Route Changes
Metro has announced several changes to Metrobus service that will go into effect on Sunday, March 23, including a new bus route to National Harbor called the NH1. It begins at the Southern Ave. Metro station, and runs every 20 minutes during rush hour and every 30 minutes during off-peak times. Buses will run between 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week.
There are also some route changes, mainly in the name of increased service frequency and time adjustments. For the District, the A46 Anacostia-Congress Heights northbound line leaving Livingston at 2:15 a.m. will continue from Half and M streets SE, to 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. For the 92 and 93, the U Street-Garfield Line, early morning service will now start at U and 14th Streets NW. Late night trips that ended at 8th and L Streets SE will now end at 14th and U Streets NW. The 79 Georgia Avenue-MetroExtra Line gets new midday service from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; buses will run every 12 minutes during those times.
Lastly for the District, as we learned earlier, the N22 Navy Yard Shuttle Line will get extended weekend and weeknight service. On weeknights the line will run until 10:30 p.m. On Saturday buses will run from 11 a.m to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday service will end at 5 p.m. After 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, buses will shorten their route, discontinuing the loop from 8th and M Streets SE, to 12th and M Streets SE. Also, the bus stop at Union Station will move to the south side of Massachusetts Avenue.
In Arlington it's all about increased service. The 16B, 16E, and 16J Columbia Pike Line will run every 15 minutes. When combined with the 16G, this leads to a bus every 7 and a half minutes on Columbia Pike. On Sundays between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., 16J and 16B buses will be rerouted to serve the Pentagon City station. Accordingly, the routes will be renamed: the 16J will become the 16P, and the 16B will become the 16E. This only affects the buses running at the new times. Also, the 16G will run every 15 minutes on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Actually, the Columbia Pike service ("Pike Ride") consists of the 16G,H,K and W serving Pentagon City, the 16A,B,D,E.F,J, and L serving the Pentagon, and the 16Y serving Farragut Square. In the 8 o'clock hour they have 23 buses on the Pike -- that's one every 2.6 minutes, not 7.5. And that doesn't include the ART buses.
Joshua missed that the Columbia Pike service changes are for Saturday, not weekdays.

keeping all of these letters and numbers straight is giving me a headache...
They ought to carve out one of the sidewalks lining 16th street and put an express bus-only lane in there, and introduce an S5 that only stops at major stops.
