SPORTS: All the usual sports bars will be packed to capacity for tonight's opening NCAA tourney action, so consider trying out new U Street sports bar Momo's for something with at least the potential to not be a headache. They're promising to have all the games on, and have pretty decent prices on pitchers of beer.

MUSIC: Sweet Teeth -- an amalgam of local acts Black and White Jacksons and Wild Fictions -- take a bite out of DC9. With Mumpsy and Tiger & the Snow. $10, 8 p.m.

HAPPY HOUR: If you enjoyed last month's Valentine's/Anti-Valentine's party hosted by the New Gay, you're sure to enjoy their co-ed, alterna-queer Vernal Equinox Party. This month's shindig is once again at Solly's Bar, 1942 11th St. NW, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

READING: The Split This Rock Poetry Festival is taking place tonight, with featured readings from 5 to 7 p.m. at Busboys and Poets on U Street, at 8 p.m. at Bell Multicultural High School, and an after party starting at 10 p.m. at Marvin.

MUSIC: Dupont Circle club MCCXXIII plays host to two legendary hip-hop acts, De La Soul and 9th Wonder, in a free show tonight. 8:30 p.m.
