With names like "Strawnana Berry," "P-Nut Power Shake" and "Mahalo Mango" -- my personal favorite flavor -- a little bit of embarrassment has always been a part of ordering a $5+ Robeks smoothie. But today from 3 to 6 p.m., declare your flavor with pride at D.C.-area Robeks and treat yourself to a 12 oz smoothie for $1.
Expect long lines as people wait for their daily serving of fruits in smoothie form. There are three Robeks within D.C.: 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. (Foggy Bottom), 4523 Wisconsin Ave. (Tenley Circle), and 1707 L St. (Farragut North). About a dozen other locations are scattered across Northern Virginia and Maryland as well.

Or you could just go to Costco and get a super underrated Berry Smoothie for eighty-five cents everyday.
Smoothies? Meh.
I went to school with Dan Robek's daughter. He is a nutcase!
i seem to remember this from last year. i think it was a crap day weather-wise then too.
Actually, those yummy Berry Smoothies at Costco snack bar are $1.35, but still such a deal !
kind of a lame deal - you only get two flavor choices, strawnana berry or something something mango. the mango one is kind of crap, too.
Gaithersburg & Beltsville Costcos only have raspberry smoothies, but that's fine for me...
Just tried the mahalo mango. Gave me heartburn and I'm pretty sure they put chalk in it.
I'm pretty sure that chalk is the "bek" part of the smoothie. bleh
Robek's Schmobeks. I wish we had Jamba Juice!
Why does DCIST constantly advertise this? You guys don't explode when CVS/Pharmacy or GIANT is having a super sale!
And, yes, Robek's is a pretty shitty imitation of Jamba Juice. (But I'm not urging people to get fat off a shitload of simple sugar from Jamba Juice either.)
There are two Robek's in South Florida, they are always empty. Jamba Juice on the other hand, is always packed.
There is one final Jamba Juice (JJ) at the Whole Foods Market in Silver Spring, it will soon be replaced by a pizza den!
I have been telling Jamba Juice corporate that a JJ is needed in DC after they removed all of them a little over a year ago.
If that agrees with you, then let them too as well!
I used to get Jamba for free and yeah its mad unhealthy. Also, it is weird how its so popular in S. Florida especially when you can go get waaaay better smoothies around any neighborhood from a smaller and/or local place (at least in Miami).
