Phramacy Bar turns 10. I've never even been.

Yeah, me neither. But I have been to the Pharmacy bar a few times.

I remember back in its early days it was one of the more aggresively hipster bars in town. You know, back when that term actual meant something different than "yuppy who reads blogs".

I think the Cherry Blossom photo contest has a winner.

i don't know why, but that picture makes me sad.

Really, posting the "Go Home Already" article at 5:00 is just mean.

Ok, so the Kitchen article about the Harris Teeter really needs to do a little background check. "Will DC finally get an upscale alternative to Safeway?" Um, yes. They're called Whole Foods and there are 3 within the city limits. Not to mention the Columbia Heights Giant, which is more upscale than your average Safeway.

And the rant about selling alcohol near a school is bunk. There's a liquor store and two mini-marts that sell beer all within 2 blocks of the school in question.

Thanks Reid, fixed.

Thanks Martin. Though I'll be based in New York, I'll be in D.C. on a semi-regular basis. After all, my family's been in the District since the 1860s. Geez, DCist turns four years old this summer! Thanks to all the editors, contributors and readers for making this site a success.

Re: A Harris Teeter in "NoMa" ... I'm sort of sad that the stupid name I tried to popularize, "NewYoFla," never caught on. Boo-hoo! Even "Swampoodle North" is better than "NoMa." No?!?

The one reason why I'm happy I'm leaving D.C.: No more panda tourists posing for photos outside my apartment.

drew....welcome to the world of having a non-panda avatar!

pharmacy bar was the first bar i went to in DC back in the day (2000).

btw: noticed on my RSS reader that the feed has been diverted to a new location. should we expect anything different from this?

Pharmacy might be riddled with hiptards, but they mix a mean pina colonic.

"If you like pina colonic...getting caught in the rain..."

Did DC charge the stadium to their Visa? 10%!!! Holy irresponsibility Batman. Well I hope they get a lot of free miles out it.

TLB - I agree, although, if I have to choose between Go Home Already being posted at 5, or the Morning Roundup being posted at 10:30, I'll take the former.

I love the Pharmacy Bar, but holy shit, that Web site needs an editor. Or is it just hip these days to misspell lots of words?

BYT is bonerific!

FYI, the new Harris Teeter in Adams Morgan is opening on April 23.

(or are we calling it AdMo these days?)
