Photo of the Day: April 2, 2008

Because it's not everyday that you get to see a clown making his rounds around some of D.C.'s more familiar sights. This photo is from the clown himself, new Flickr contributor clownish, who only has a few photos on his stream right now, but is clearly warming up to terrify the Nation's capital with his horrifying presence. We can only give you this warning: keep your eyes peeled.

ohhhh, i hate clowns. hate hate hate hate hate. it's all because my dad and brother made me watch "killer clowns from outer space" as a kid. :: shudders at the memories ::
but i love this. very clever, mr. clown.
erincarly: I believe it's "Killer Klowns from Outer Space," and yes, it's terrifying.
oh god, i had nightmares from watching "It" as a kid. how dare this clown ruin the FDR memorial for me.
Leave it to a friggin clown to mock FDR, breadlines, and the Great Depression. Is there anyone who actually likes clowns? I mean, anyone without severe brain damage?
Also, I spotted the Immersive Media VW Bug cruising past 11th and D a minute ago. I'd say DC is getting it's own street-level Google Map soon. Looking forward to seeing DC's best sunbathing bikini ladies.
Clowns get no respect.
I feel this song is appropriate:
It was a CLOWN that destroyed my mind, so long ago. I was still just a child. It was working in the Shakey's Pizza Parlor (Langley Park?), and it was making balloon animals.
I dinna WANT no stinking balloon animal. Just gimme my pizza dammit.....and the friggin' balloon burst in my face while the painted bastard was making his demented little wiener-dog sculpture...
And to this day, whenever I see someone walking a dachshund, I must look away because I KNOW there's a clown somewhere gonna make that little sucker explode like a bloody bomb all over the precious pizza of my youth...
sorry this one:

Normally it galls me to see tourists goof off at the Segal breadline sculpture, but this made me laugh. If you could get a picture of the clown with the capitol bunnies, that would be the most awesome photo ever.
Prostitution, marijuana, and buttsecks continue to be criminalized, yet these...well, I hesitate to call them people...they are still allowed to walk around in their stupid boots frightening children and traumatizing adults and defiling our national monuments. Well, I didn't have both my legs blown off at Wang Chung to put up with androgynous miming perverts in fright wigs.
Guess what, Bozo? You aren't funny. You were never funny. The last thing a kid in a cancer ward wants to see on his deathbed is the likes of you. You and your kind aren't welcome here. Stay away from me and my children or I will not be held responsible for the consequences.
You have been warned.
The First Annual Take-Back-the-Lunch rally will be held tomorrow at the FDR Monument at high noon.
Be there or beheaded.
at least its not a picture of a poor abused elephant!!!!!!!!
No, IntangibleArts. These men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.
monkeye .... supposedly they've already done a bunch of the DC and Baltimore area but the "man" put on the kibosh in order to review any possible security threats.
I take it that "security threats" is the new Homeland Security lingo for "ginormous, outta control bootys."
Good to know Chertoff's hired goons are keeping us safe and rockin out to Sir Mixalot. Their anaconda don't want none unless you've got buns, hon.
monkey: yeah, they did DC last year. one of my old co-workers here at NGS left to work for them, and they gave us a tour of the VW bug they use. very cool. anyway, i've wondered why the imagery was never deployed to the website...
OMG Bethesdaist, you just made my day!!!
That clown is seriously freaking me out! I don't want to look but I just can't look away...
Hate. Clowns. With. A. Passion.
Striking a goofy pose at the back of that sculpture has been played since about 20 minutes after the FDR Memorial was dedicated.
The Immersive Media car was parked overnight in Mount Pleasant a few nights ago.
This is fucking awesome.
