Don Geronimo's Retiring Early

2008_04_03_dongeronimo.jpgLast month, news broke that Don Geronimo would be retiring at the end of May, ending a multi-decade career in the D.C. radio market alongside partner Mike O'Meara. However, chatter has picked up over the past couple weeks that said retirement was being hastened, as the planned week-long spring break was extended.

Now it's official. You've already heard the last regular Don and Mike show, broadcast on March 13th. Mike O'Meara and Robb Spewak will be doing a week's worth of retrospectives starting on April 7th, with Don dropping in to do a farewell show on April 11th. The Mike O'Meara show will now start on April 14th. Longtime fans of the show can take heart in the fact that Beth Ann McBride will return as the show's executive producer...good news considering she was the last producer capable of scoring big-time guests on the show.

So farewell, Don. Hopefully the fart jokes will still work in Ocean City.

goodbye unfunny

So depressing. I've been listening to them for almost 11 years, since I was 15 years old.

aww man...who's going to perpetuate negative gay stereotypes on the radio now? this is a sad day for those who love moronic LCD 'humor'.
