Go Home Already: Seriously, It's Really Nice Outside

Sakhi was a Dupont fixture. I bought keffias from him ages ago and when someone asked where I got mine, I pointed them to Sakhi. I haven't thought about him in years.

After Ronald Reagan's death but before his funeral service at the National Cathedral, the Park Service quickly repaved Waterside Drive between Rock Creek Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue to smooth out all the potholes.

When is Fenty going to put a Rhee clone in charge of the DMV. You could fire everyone in the department and productivity would probably increase.

Only good thing about DC's DMV is you can play to their incompetence. I once re-scheduled a hearing on a pretty expensive speeding ticket 5 times over two years. When i finally showed up in court 25 months after being pulled over the officer had retired. Ticket dismissed.

That's a really nice story about the umbrella vendor. I must have seen him dozens of times but never know his story. I wonder how many other people like him are on the streets.

fatkidspecial, that's the most brilliant thing I've heard all day. This guy's story isn't the only case I've heard of stolen cars going unnoticed. Is their system even linked to crime data base?

Just a random rant - why can't we working stiff ever have a nice, sunny spring-like WEEKEND? We seem to be in this pattern where during working hours it's nice out, and each weekend it's rainy, or drizzly, or cold and windy, or some kind of storm front is coming through. The clock is ticking towards unbearably hot summer weather, and we need a string of nice weekends now. Makes me want to move to California.
OK, rant over, I feel better now.

MrT - You have to consider the possibility that God does not like you. He never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen.

Peace,

+++JMJ+++

MrTin, it does seem to be a local phenomenom- crap weekends, and beautiful weekdays. My theory is that all of the stress and calcified hatred that builds up on Monday among the combined million or so working schmucks here in town create a high pressure zone that keeps the clouds away during the week. Come Friday, there is so much collected relief and drunkedness that the hothead-a-hole (Hah2) pressure in the area drops by 50% thus producing the low pressure zone and crap weekend weather. Or something like that.

stmove: you need to pitch that idea to the capital weather gang folks and see if they can give it the full meteorological investigation it deserves.

What you feel has come and gone before. No need to talk it out; we know what it's all about. Hanging around, nothing to do but frown. Rainy days and mondays always get me down.

Aside from the Carpenters and Dr. Simon & Dr. Garfunkle of the Groovy Moody Scientific Research Institute of Downer Weather Patterns, I do not think the issue has recieved the attention it deserves.

Study the trends with Mr. Lamp post if need be, you will see that I am right. The data going back 60 years showing a negative weekend to weekday good weather ratio does not lie! Even if we might.

Interesting coincidence that the Central Intelligence Agency just turned 61 years old. You don't need a tinfoil hat to know which way the wind blows.

If these donkeys have enough money to waste on gas by driving around while not working, then surely they have enough money to drive around while working. They should try to think outside of the box next time.

And seriously, who typed that entry at WJLA? I mean it's understandable if you quote somebody not using correct grammar and to enter [sic]. But for crying out loud, the staff can't correctly spell "enough" or "compensated"?
