There has been a lot of clown activity in the Flickr pool lately. We featured this horrifying creature a couple weeks ago, who we continue to watch terrorize our nation's most precious monuments and landmarks. Flickr user erin m watched as these two children learned early the Truth About Clowns, as you can tell from the look of shock and disbelief on their faces. Sorry about the nightmares, kids -- we've all been there.

Is that a baloon animal in your pocket...

I don't know what's more unsettling: the kids strapped into their strollers or the wall of pudgy parents, both preventing any hope of escape.

These clowns need to go back to the sewers from whence they came.

ah those kids just look tired or captivated, not scared. but i agree that the parents are pudgy.

keep up the clown shots!

brilliant!

That's funny. The kids have the same expression that I have right now while I'm looking at the monstrosity that tourist likes to call her cherry touring pants.

God. It's a clown.

that's what i get for shooting my mouth off before really observing stuff.

I really hope that's "water" in the foreground, and not the result of children peeing themselves in fear.

blittle, I'd like to nominate you for Unintentional Comment of the Week.

That whole Clownish thing, "what do you see?" on Flickr creeps me out. Maybe he has something to do with those 70 dog carcasses found in Maryland!

MrT - I'm thinking it's either the Bunnyman or the Goatman, with a slight edge to the former. Goatman is really more of a Fletchertown Road insane nocturnal animal vivisectionist. Pretty much stays in P.G. County.

Then again, Karl Rove hasn't been seen around for a while.....

Who say's the U.S. doesn't torture?

either way, the contrast of one kid with the sunglasses up and the other one with the sunglasses down is too cute to be real. looks staged...but still makes me smile.

Sadly I've seen tourists (and pregnant women) wearing pants very similar to those...

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call them "pants." They're more like mumus and pup tents with pockets sewn on them.
