McGillicuddy - They're called "spirit orbs."
My guess is that they're the ghosts of everyone who's had to drink Jaeger shots.

miss bee - I couldn't agree more. I didn't notice the tags when I picked the photo today, I figured that if it was in the DCist pool it was in DC. Guess we'll have to make an announcement about photos in the pool should be from DC.
Is that Jaeger? The shape of the bottle doesn't look right at all.
i thought you could have non-DC photos, as long as you were a districtonian taking the shot...
are there rules for photo of the day?
i always figured it should be DC area related...

mellbell - it's a jager bottle alright. the light swirling at the bottle's bottom edge probably distracts the shape some.
McGuillicuddy - the light swirls come from a 2 second shutter and me swinging the camera a bit after the shutter opens and catching a point light in the background
Eric Petersen and miss bee - I was going for maybe "About Tonight" so I thought the shot would be apporpriate, DC or no. At any rate, I tagged clearly and left all to the editor's discretion.
a little off topic, but does anyone watch Lidia's Italy cooking show on public television? Everytime she pores olive oil, I swear the damn bottle is Jaeger
Sexy fitsum - I'm not blaming you, I should have checked/noticed the tags but I just didn't, because it was clearly marked. Either way, I like the image.

Even smelling it used to make me sick. But it goes so well with a frothy pint of my other friend, Guinness. Will admit, it's an acquired taste.

I thought the DCist house drink was Banana Colonics. Honestly, it has to be better than Jager.
The only thing better than Jager is a double Jager, my friend.
The bartender's face says it all, "You will look like this after you drink Jaeger." He does look incredibly close to vomiting.
