About Tonight

MUSIC: Despite the ominous sounding names, neither headliner Murder By Death nor opener O'Death fall under earsplitting metal or whiny emo rock. Each have a darker edge but draw more from alt-country, punk and jazz. And what better way to finish up the metaphor for this Black Cat lineup than to have another band on the bill named Kiss Kiss? Doors at 8 p.m., $13.
SPORTS: We're sure many of you will be heading to one of the city's three big games tonight. Tickets are still available online for the Nats, at the RFK box office only for D.C. United, and maybe for the Wizards, but they're not available online anymore either. And for the rest of you, good luck getting home tonight!
READING: Missy Chase Lapine, who is responsible for sneaking vegetables in children's diets with her book The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids' Favorite Meals, is back. This time, she's insinuating in Sneaky Chef: How to Cheat on Your Man (in the Kitchen!): Hiding Healthy Foods in Hearty Meals Any Guy Will Love that the man of the household isn't getting enough of greens. 7 p.m.
JAZZ: Usually a trumpet soloist with the fantastic Army Blues jazz ensemble, Graham Breedlove will be leading his own group tonight at Twins Jazz. His quintet will feature New Orleans-based drummer Wayne Maureau. Call 202-234-0072 for set time and cover information.
