Darn it!!! I wish I had read this on Friday.

But, honestly after 2+ hours in a rented car last weekend trying to drop off my 12 yr old computer, I doubt I would have done it again this past Saturday. No way did I want to drag the damn thing out again - those old machines are heavy.

Glad to hear they are planning on a regular drop off. It was impossible not to think of all the people discouraged by the lines deciding to simply toss it all in the trash and take the risk of being caught. Hopefully, this will be well advertised - one week after the decision, and this is the first I've heard of it.

Or you can use COSTCO's Trade-In & Recycle Program and get money for that Intel Pentium II monster you have.

Another option to get rid of old TVs and Old PCs is to post them as FREE on Craigslist. I did this a couple weeks ago and immediately got 2 people to come and get my junk Windows 98 PC and tube TV. Both were really old but worked.

knowing what we know about DC and how well it's being run...ahem...i wonder what they're doing with these toxic chemicals and useless electronics? i wouldn't be half surprised to see them chuck the donations in their landfill at the end of the day or dump them in the Potomac.
