agreed, bladezone, on the line. it was impressive, though, that they were able to get as many people inside as they did. i think town is one of those places that is bigger on the inside than on the outside.

I was there also. Although I, along with IMGoph had a similar experience as granolagal4 with the waiting and not doing anything for the first hour or so, we did get the chance to contribute and paint some lockers and did some de-rooting in the yard. I thought the after-party played out pretty well.

Damn - those meatballs they served... I would've gone for seconds or thirds if the line wasn't so damn long.

I actually have a photo of the awesome face of IMGoph as well but forgot to email that (or any of my other photos) to Sommer this weekend, so you ladies will have to wait in suspense.

Those computer lab lockers never did actually get painted. The lab is now missing out on the psychadelic green and yellow that the rest of the classrooms have.

Yes, the after party was pretty lame, mostly because I couldn't find any of my fellow teammates - did everyone bail?

Huzzah IMGoph! I think he's the only other DCist I actually met - my painting team was all Univ. of Michigan alumni.

I wish my site were as great a success. Our volunteer leaders took an hour just to give us tasks, and then didn't even have the right color paint to cover up chips in the wall. Unfortunately, it was a huge waste of time, as I hear the after-party was also. It might be my last DC Cares Event.
