CLASSICAL: The Richmond Symphony Orchestra will perform its 50th Anniversary Concert at 8 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, with guest soloist Christopher O'Riley. O'Riley is well known for his piano arrangements of songs by alternative rock musicians like Radiohead and Elliott Smith, but will be playing more traditional fare tonight with selections by Mahler, Rachmaninoff, and Ravel. $35-$55.

MUSIC: Southern California "rock 'n' soul" outfit The Bellrays headline the Black Cat, with openers Architects and The Future Fags. $12, 9 p.m.

MOVIE: The Library of Congress's Mary Pickford Theater screens Wild River, a highly regarded but now obscure political work from director Elia Kazan, which addresses the clash of rural culture and technological progress that came with the Tennessee Valley Authority. Jo Van Fleet plays a landowner who steadfastly refuses to make way for a dam that will flood the land she lives on, Lee Remick plays her granddaughter, and Montgomery Clift is the federal agent tasked with convincing them to move. 7 p.m., call (202) 707-5677 to reserve your free seat.

MUSIC: Tonight's (and tomorrow's) Raconteurs show at the 9:30 Club is sold out, but Craigslist has a few option. With The Black Lips, doors at 7:30 p.m.
