This Week In Hip-Hop

l_48f500d53ae6c7d161c0198cf573b937%5B1%5D.jpgTuesday:
>> Twin Cities-based indie hip-hop stars Eyedea & Abilities are on the road again and will be at Rock and Roll Hotel as a part of the "Appetite for Distraction" tour. They'll be joined by local acts Educated Consumers and Math Panda. $12, 8 p.m.

Wednesday:
>> The Rhythm & Soul series at Bohemian Caverns goes slightly out of its typical element with two acoustic sets by D.C.-based rocker Sitali (pictured). The son of Zambian diplomats, he's traveled the world and picked up musical influences from each stop. $10, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m.

>> One of Chicago's finest DJ/producers, Radiohiro, will be making a rare D.C. performance along with NYC's infamous Zakhm. Plenty of local DC flavor will also be on hand, including live performances by House of Soul, a DJ set by Sonnet, and Unbuckled 7 alum v:shal kanwar to bring the bump. This Electroganic party will take place at Liv. $10 in advance/$15 at the door, 8 p.m.

Thursday:
>> It seems like it's easier to count the number of songs Lil' Wayne isn't performing on than the ones he's on as of late. He'll be at Love in the build up to his upcoming release, Tha Carter III. $40-$60, 7 p.m.

>> It's been nearly a decade and a half since Nas released one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all-time, Illmatic. Tonight at the Rock and Roll Hotel, Kev Brown, Oddisee and several other producers will deconstruct the classic LP, remix it and perform their creations live as a part of Inner Loop Records' Illmatic Remix Party. $20, 9 p.m.

Friday:
>> Inner Loop Records' continues its end of the month "Beatdown" series with a producer battle. Up for grabs are $300 and a production session with an established artist. This event will go down at Club Five. $15, 8 p.m.

I probably won't make it to any of these shows this week, but thanks WJM for keeping me informed about what I'm missing!
