Reader, Meet Author

Pornography of PowerMONDAY:
Robert Scheer will be at Politics and Prose to discuss his book, The Pornography of Power. If you swapped those words around, you'd have an entirely different book. 7 p.m.

TUESDAY:
Comedian and The Daily Show contributor Lewis Black will be at the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue to read from his new book, Me of Little Faith. Two tickets are free with a book purchase at Politics and Prose, or cost $6 each. The event is co-sponsored by DC Comedy Fest. 7:30 p.m.

Best-selling historian Rick Shenkman makes an appearance at the Olsson's in Dupont Circle to discuss his newest book, Just How Stupid Are We?: Facing the Truth about the American Voter. 7 p.m.

Author and musician Sid Griffin will be at the Barnes and Noble in Georgetown to discuss his book, Million Dollar Bash: Bob Dylan, The Band, and the Basement Tapes, the story of Dylan and his recordings during the summer of 1967. 7 p.m.

Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan will make an appearance at Politics and Prose to talk about his controversial new tell-all, What Happened. It starts at 7 p.m., but we'd recommend getting there several hours early if you hope to get a seat.

WEDNESDAY:
In The New Blue Media, Theodore Hamm takes a look at the new face of progressive media, from the satire of The Daily Show to the in-your-face documentary style of Michael Moore, and how it's transforming politics. Hamm will be at the Olsson's in Dupont Circle to discuss and sign copies of his book. 7 p.m.

Paul Roberts, the best-selling author of The End of Oil: On the Edge of a Perilous New World, will be at the Washington Ethical Society to discuss his book, The End of Food. We can guess how that one ends. 7:15 p.m.

THURSDAY:
Andre Dubus III, author of House of Sand and Fog, will make an appearance at Politics and Prose to talk about his latest novel, The Garden of Last Days. 7 p.m.

SATURDAY:
Leni Zumas will be at Politics and Prose to talk about her new collection of short stories, Farewell Navigator. 6 p.m.
