Ironic that importer Terry Thiese is based in Silver Spring. The Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control makes sure that most of Thiese's selections aren't available there.

I had lunch at Sent-Trawl. I wasn't that impressed. The food was ok, and the atmosphere sucked. I think there were better, less hyped, restaurants that opened here over the last year. Personally, along the same bistro front, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at Brasserie Beck a lot more than Central.

Little known fact: the song "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" was based on Burl Ives albums. The insane dialog ("I told you I'd shoot! But, you didn't believe me! Why didn't you believe me?!" and "I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs!") was cribbed from his role in the movie "The Big Country."

watch out cedric! a borg disguised as a deranged santa claus is trying to ingest your body! ah, i'm just jealous noone has taken me to his restaurant yet. weirdly, i used to LOVE burl ives. did anyone ever see that bizarre disney movie called summer magic that involved burl singing to a catepillar? was my mom the only one who used to sit me in front of obscure disney movies? peta note: i don't think any catepillars were ingested or harmed in the filming of the film.

It is a damn good restaurant, and you can actually get in, unlike places like Mini Bar.
