Yep, everyone thinks this is pretty funny... but doesn't it bother you that year by year, our infrastructure becomes more fragile? More blackouts, more transportation delays, more potholes? The proper response in a nation that cares about the future would be outrage, not irony. I'm a bit older than most of you (I'm guessing), and trust me... stuff like this didn't happen as often 20 years ago.

@bargainbasementbaby: Did you say that a guy defecated openly in the Metro car and it landed on your foot? Oh.My.G0D. Was his a$$ in full view? That's the nastiest thing I've heard all day! And, a terrible reminder of the one time I rushed into one of those rear seats on a Metro car (y'kno, the ones with a half-glass partition?) and as I flopped into the seat I had the gruesome sensation of feces oozing into my open-toe sandals. Someone had found a quiet spot to relieve themselves and didn't even have the decency to cover it with a newspaper. heebeegeebeeheebeegeebeeheebeegeebee!!!!

that post article also described the scene on one street downtown "like a Carnival". I just hope those office secretaries were not dressed like the Brazilians during Carnival. Unless they meant an American carnival...I do wonder whether anyone had a hot hand in the dice game! Clickety Clack!

Does this mean the Orange/Blue lines are impacted (i.e. going through Metro Center). Love how WMATA doesn't see fit to announce that, too. And also love how while waiting for my train the biggest announcements are the elevator outages. The three people this impacts can ask a station manager.
