Ding Dong the Arsenic's Dead: Fort Reno 2008 Schedule
Let the joyous news be spread, the wicked old arsenic is finally dead. It's been a trying year for Fort Reno's summer concert series; from the initial panic to the slow realization that there was nothing actually to worry about, it's time to "dust off the arsenic," as Fort Reno's organizer Amanda MacKaye put it. The 2008 schedule has been officially announced, and it's looking like a great summer.
Things get started next Monday, June 23, with a couple of DCist favorites on the bill. Olivia Mancini and the Housemates, who played our 2nd Unbuckled show and who we got a chance to catch up with recently, and New Rock Church of Fire, a former Three Stars subject, will share the stage next week with Evolution, a band who we're not familiar with and who don't appear to have a website. Mystery band!
As always, the rules for Fort Reno are: no glass bottles, no alcohol, no drugs. Babies, dogs and friendly people are always welcome. Shows start promptly at 7:15 p.m. and are over by 9:30 p.m. And don't forget: Amanda and co. can't continue putting on these shows and keeping this D.C. institution going without your help. So shake the change out of your pockets and make a donation.

I never knew Ding Dong the Arsenic, but I'm sure he was a good person and is in a much happier place now. My condolences to his family.

Someone, somewhere, with a lot of free time, and maybe a desk job without much oversight, should make this calendar downloadable for people like me who like rock but don't like to type a whole lot.

Wow, for once in my life i might actually be in town to see some FT reno concerts.
It's kind of crazy that i'm just starting to go now since i spent all of my junior and senior high years right friggen next to it.
