I love the idea of this synagogue being used for live events. I don't know one way or another about the acoustics, but I applaud the synagogue's owners for having the balls to do this.

It's little steps like this that make a city interesting and worth living in.

i disagree, max2i. i think she genuinely appreciated the acoustics. as a former choir dork, i would have LOVED to perform in there. the acoustics in most churches, synagogues, cathedrals, etc. are usually pretty wonderful.

it was an AMAZING show. i appreciated laura burhenn but i thought i was going to fall asleep during her set. agree that her musicians were amazing.

Adele just completely wowed me last night. i knew she would be amazing, but i suppose i didn't expect her to be so real and down to earth. i hope that doesn't change as she grows older...lord knows most of us are a bit more cynical than we were at 20...

Winehouse's backing instrumentalists are better.

The Dap-Kings are indeed spectacular.

I was at the show too. Bought the tickets on a whim and didn't really know what to expect. I was ho-hum on Adele's album but I'm sold. The girl is downright amazing and its hard to believe that she's only 20 years old. And yeah, her voice was really surprising as well.

And comparing the voices of Adele and Laura Burhenn is unfair. They come from two entirely different sides of the vocal spectrum.

I was there too - awesome show. A couple of points. The acoustics of Sixth & I suck. This is what Adele was saying when she said it's like having 4 different voices - there is too much reverberation. Laura Burhenn's backers were good, but it's nothing compared to her original band of musicians with whom she recorded the "Wanderlust" album.
