Ice Creampocalypse: Day 6 @ Dolcezza, Bethesda Row

Two floods, two ruined wooden floors and a broken AC compressor later, Dolcezza's second location in Bethesda Row finally opened two weeks ago. Now that the shop has had a little time to perfect serving their Argentinean-style gelato - in addition to churning out 300 lbs of various flavors, all from locally sourced ingredients - they'll be throwing a grand opening fiesta tonight from 6 - 11 p.m. They expect "mass gelato pandemonium" as they give away all 300 lbs of the frozen treat. Although it may be a bit out the way, we recommend getting there early to secure a cup before it all runs out.
Also, take particular note of the shop's gorgeous, mosaic-tiled floors, a prudent decision after their bad luck with two previous wooden ones.
The new location is at 7111 Bethesda Lane in Bethesda, Md.

That looks SO good. Dolcezza has the best ice cream around. Try the cilantro lime.

why oh why does this have to be so far from downtown?
lucky suburbanites....

Seriously? We're not suburbanites. Cut it out.
Also, it's on Bethesda Ave. I'm not sure why that lists it as Bethesda Lane (so does the Post), but no such street exists.
I live within 5 minutes, walking. HA! Gelato tonight!!

do you live in the central city of the urban area?
if not, you are by definition, suburban. is not a diss, is just a fact.

Doesn't "sub" suggest that we are somehow below you citydwellers, geographically speaking? As a proud resident of Silver Spring, I like to think of myself as super-urban. Crystal City, on the other hand, is beneath us all.

Why buy the cow when you can get the gelato for free? Am I right fellas? Yeah!

As a proud resident of Silver Spring...
Huh. Alright then.

Gelato is great, but I'd kill to find some dondurma in this town.
Anyone? Beuller? Monkey?

timetheviking2: nope, it just means subordinate, in a strictly numeric and hierarchical meaning of the word.

IMGoph: I don't agree with your definition of urban. It's more a matter of construction density/organization than it is of political divisions, and Bethesda row is in an urban area of Bethesda.

VJ: i don't disagree with you, but we're talking political divisions here, so my definition is germane. sure, bethesda is an urban place, but it is suburban to DC in the political hierarchy around here.

Hey stoprobbers - the pedestrian street is called Bethesda Lane.
And does anyone know what moron approved that hideous light fixture/crap-art display outside Tickled Pink??
And just exactly what the fuck is "artisanal gelato" anyway?
