It's my understanding that PG County police dept is about 40% black, and that most of the higher-ups (at least in political positions in the dept and elsewhere) are black. I could be wrong about that.

The individual/parties should be tried quickly and given the death penality. If this was a fellow inmate we will get rid of someone we NEVER want back into society. If it was a prison employee, we remove a person from society which should have never been there to begin with. This all makes you wonder if this person has gotten by with this before; and, how many times?

It's gonna be ugly for the PG PD. I can understand them wanting to slap around this guy for killing one of their own. But to kill him? Bad. Very bad.

From my own experience with PG county police in the Laurel area it's a pretty mixed group. I imagine many are long-term residents of at least the surrounding area but I'm not sure about how many are life-long PG county residents. Someone help me out here. Given that race is a fundamental dynamic behind just about every event in DC, can someone tell me what the situation is in the PG police force? Are most PG cops white, either long-term residents of the county from before it changed, or rent-a-cops from other parts of MD or WV? Or is the PG police force largely black, or even mixed? I only remember that off-duty cop who shot the furniture delivery guys, and he was black, but I don't know what the police force is like as a whole.

As is so often the case in these types of things, it appears there are no good guys, except maybe the officer that was killed. It seems a pretty safe bet that this character willingly killed a police officer. That certainly doesn't justify him being killed in this manner. But it does make you a lot less sympathetic.

They'd have made him, his family, and his cul-de-sac disappear. Then tomorrow's paper would have an article saying "There never was a Ronnie White."

The more affluent residents of PG have made it clear to their police that they're willing to put up with a certain level of police brutality in order to keep their less affluent residents in line. With that level of "community backing" it's a wonder this sort of thing doesn't happen more often. And people who kill cops, either on purpose or accidentally, shouldn't expect extra candy on Valentines Day. Still, this seems like the sort of thing that happens to political prisoners in Soviet gulags, not in your backyard.

@demon Do you think calling PG's finest corrupt paints an accurate picture? Hyper-violent and likely to go megaton on that ass in seconds flat? No doubt. But when I think of police corruption I'm thinking shake downs and protection scams and things of that nature. Maybe all that stuff is going down in the PG force too and I just don't know.

He killed a cop on the most corrupt police force in the country. Even though he was moved out of PG County jail, what happened to him is not a surprise.
