Author Stephanie Klein will be at the Olsson's in Dupont Circle to discuss and sign copies of Moose: A Memoir of Fat Camp. 7 p.m.
TUESDAY:
No plans this Tuesday? We recommend an evening with Chuck Palahniuk at the Avalon Theater. He'll appear in an on-stage interview moderated by The Dead Travel Fast author Eric Nuzum, as well as read from and discuss his new book, Snuff. You can't go wrong with that. Dalia Sofer will be at Politics and Prose to discuss her first novel, The Septembers of Shiraz, the story of an Iranian Jewish family after the fall of the Shah in 1979. 7 p.m.

Award-winning journalist Julie Salamon, who spent a year covering the new state-of-the-art cancer center at Brooklyn's Maimonides Hospital, will be at Politics and Prose to talk about what she found there, the subject of her book, Hospital: Man, Woman, Birth, Death, Infinity, Plus Red Tape, Bad Behavior, Money, God and Diversity on Steroids. That title just about sums it up, doesn't it? 7 p.m.
THURSDAY:
Ahmed Rashid will be at the Barnes and Noble in Georgetown to discuss Descent into Chaos, a look at the ongoing turmoil in Afghanistan and Central Asia. 7:30 p.m.
Wenonah Hauter, former director of Public Citizen's Critical Mass Energy and Environment Program and current executive director of Food & Water Watch will be at the Busboys and Poets in D.C. to discuss and sign copies of her book, Zapped! Irradiation and the Death of Food. The event is sponsored by the Food and Water Watch. 6:30 p.m.
Actor, writer, musician and political pundit Ben Jones will be at the Olsson's in Dupont Circle to talk about his life story, aptly titled Redneck Boy in the Promised Land: The Confessions of 'Crazy Cooter'. 7 p.m.
Author Andrew Sean Greer, originally from Washington D.C. but now based in San Francisco, will be at Politics and Prose to talk about his book, The Story of a Marriage, which is the story of a marriage. We kid. It's obviously about a lot more than that. Things happen. 7 p.m.
FRIDAY:
Bill Bishop will make an appearance at Politics and Prose to talk about his new book, The Big Sort. It's about Americans’ increasing tendency to migrate into ever-narrower communities, churches, and political groups and the implications for our society. 7 p.m.
SATURDAY:
David Michaels, a George Washington University professor and former Assistant Secretary of Energy, will be at Politics and Prose to discuss and sign copies of his book, Doubt is Their Product: How Industry's Assault on Science Threatens Your Health. 6 p.m.
