Go Home Already: Even Penguins Get Tomorrow Off

- In terms of headlines you just hate to read, “Forecast: Typical D.C. Summer Weather Returns” has got to be pretty high on the list. [Capital Weather Gang]
- D.C. is the only area in the country where the percentage of obese adults actually declined in 2008. Granted, it only went down by 0.1 percent, but hey, it’s a start. Take that, Congressionally represented states! [Calorie Lab via Neatorama]

Insert expected, generic, and entirely justified complaint about another study pointlessly comparing DC to entire states on a topic where it's not fair comparison.
I bet a lot of urban centers had decreasing obesity rates, and I'm sure there were cities that beat DC's whopping tenth of a percent.

good on DC for putting a real median (hopefully) down connecticut ave., and on 16th street (like was mentioned in the post on saturday).
tiny american flags for pedestrians, flat tires for drivers!

Screw medians. Almost every media in DC used to have a streetcar line running down it. Lose the pointless grassy median, bring back light rail. Or a dedicated bus line.
Or strippers. Lots of strippers.
