Back in June we told you about the awesomeness that is the Girls Rock!DC summer camp, which will teach young local ladies how to play rock music and form bands. The camp itself runs from August 11-15, and culminates with a performance showcase on Saturday, August 16 at the 9:30 Club (sorry, all camp spots are full at this time). You can be sure that DCist will be there to rock out with the girls next month.
Folks from GR!DC got in touch with us to let us know that they are still looking for a number of items they're hoping the community can donate or lend out to make sure the campers have everything they need. We've posted the list below. If you have questions about how or what to donate, email donations@girlsrockdc.org. You can also bring your donations to Fort Reno tonight, where a collection drive will be held between bands.

They need amps that go to 11
That is a mightily long wish list for a camp that is set to open in less than 2 weeks.
I agree, mommyworks. I was left wondering what equipment they actually do have . . .
The Girls Rock! camp actually has most of the instruments, etc. on the "big list" included in this post. But double and triple-checking off items only helps to ensure that every girl who comes to camp will have everything she needs to rock. Every donation is important.
Very cool concept! You go girls! Keerannggg!
The LittleMissMoonPie will be attending. I think I'm more excited than she is!
