Yep, vote for people because of race! Not because of merit, qualifications or personal preference. What liberation one must feel from such ideals. Poor little Asians, Blacks and Hispanics – you don’t need to meet the same requirements as the big, bad white man.
Is winning really that sweet when you call upon ‘pity’ as your platform? And remind me, is it conservatives or liberals that identify individuals as different?
I know for a fact that there are several gay (white) men identified in this little competition. Is their discrimination lesser than that of an Asian? Who is judging a book by its cover now? Or maybe Fish Bowl should slap a big rainbow sticker on those guy’s pictures so you will know to vote for them too. Asinine.

easyenough,

it sounds like it was only one date, but by chance did she mention log homes? i'm completely fascinated by a publication so ardently focused on dwellings made from logs. and curious to know how one decides that this is one's calling.

Vote for Robby Santos! He is neither white or vain. He is one of the few Asian Americans to defy his parents wishes to follow his love of communications. And..he is HOT!

Once upon a time I went on date with Rachel, and let me just say that she's much much more attractive in person, than she is in that photo. Vote early and often...

hey, patrick gavin said himself that the reason dcist wasn't on there was the simple reason that nobody nominated them. i'll make sure to do that next year!

Most of the house-bound, hypochondriac, dateless-for-decades types I know happen to be journalists.

Of course, it's also possible that they remember what happened the last time they nominated two DCist-affiliated individuals who then gamed the ridiculous system and won the whole thing in a landslide . . .

If you want someone to blame for the DCist shutout (other than your parents, of course), you might consider pointing the finger at Ms. Andrews and Mr. Capps.

I'd be happy if they just Photoshopped their faces onto the American Apparel redhead. C'mon! Booty shorts? Cameltoe? Freckles!? My nipples explode with delight!

So, monkey - then he fixes the cable?

I support the DCist pinup calendar, and I also volunteer to help.

Um, if you folks are so damn hot, where's your swimsuit calendar?

I'm picturing lots of Vaseline-lensed Glamour Shots involving hot-and-bothered bloggers bending over servers and editing Perl scripts. And then the shirtless, washboard abs IT guy knocks on the door and says, "Hello. Mein dizbatcher says zere iss problem mit deine kable. Ich habe come zu clean deine cache."

Bow chicka bow wow.

Woof. There's a reason why media types should never mate--the poor kid would be so self-absorbed, geeky and awkward that they'd never survive to adulthood. A more appropriate contest would be "Media Types Least Likely to Poison the Gene Pool for All Mankind."

We too would like to see more diversity in newsrooms and on silly online hott-or-not contests

Christ, you already have a monkey working for you. What other blog can say that? I mean, apart from Drudge. And Huffington. And Gawker. Alright, be fair: most blogs are run by monkeys. But my mom think's I'm hot!
