Hmmm, maybe I caught them on an off night, but I tried the bibim bap a few weeks ago, and it was terrible. This was my first experience with their food, and I vowed never to return. My friend didn't like his either, so it wasn't just me. I had better Korean food at that place in Dupont on 17th. I don't know if I can try again.

Oh Adams Express! The Bi Bim Bop, Chap Chae and Bulgogi are weekday "I don't want to be bothered with cooking" comforts. I miss the sweet couple that runs the place...

Pants - K Young's at the Florida Avenue Market is the s**t. Straight UP. Makes Yee Hwa downtown look like a pile of puke. And if you aint' down with the kimchee, get your ass over to Litteri's for a sub and a bottle of barolo. That kimchee goes through you like a Ferrari. Or a Hyundai with Glasspacks.

There is a really good Korean place in the Northeast market (restaurant supply market) between Florida and NY, just a few blocks east of North capitol st. If you go towards the southwest side of the market, there is a free standing small hut/house housing a really great mom and pop korean place. It was packed full of a really ecclectic mix of people the last time I was there. Low rent ambience but top notch food.

I hope I'm not violating a comment rule, but thought I'd say I concur with your review and mention I've posted their menu on my blog, WhereInDC . Their bibim bap is unlike what you'd find in most restaurants (or at least it was for me) but it's delicious (and cheap!).

I just moved to the border of Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant this past Many, and Adam Express was the first take-out place I visited. This review is spot-on--the food is outstanding.

Totally, stick to the Korean fare and you'll be pleasantly surprised. This is awesome food. And it's very like Mom and Pop places in Korea. Try the shrimp pajun.

Despite the humble surroundings, the food is great and the owners are really friendly. Once I walked up when they were locking up and they stayed open just to serve me some bibimbop. The Korean-style spicy seafood rules.

Don't badmouth the Georgia Avenue carryout joints! Eddie Leonard's at Georgia & Lamont has awesome fried chicken. At least it seems that way at 3:30 AM, but at that point, who's picky? And talk about one-stop shopping. You can pick up an 8-ball on your way out, too.

This is enough to make one wary, as it seems to echo the nasty pizza/subs/Chinese food/wings/seafood joints littering Georgia Avenue. I used to feel the same way until I tried the steak and cheese and onion and egg and ham and bacon sub at "Evil" Danny's on H Street. I call it their "Good Morning Steak and Cheese." My doctor calls it a violation of the Geneva Convention. How does the Korean compare to Dan the Man's Teriyaki and Subs for Korean? Any other good soups? I had a beef tendon with noodles at Gamalsot in Hechinger Plaza near Springfield that kicked my ass. Still a lot of life left in those tendons. Four shrieks on the monkeyrotica scale. And a food pic in dcist that doesn't look like diarrhea or the liner notes of a German castration video is always appreciated. Thanks.
