READING: D.C.'s own George Pelecanos is at Politics and Prose to talk about his latest novel, Turnaround. It's a sure bet the house will be packed, so get there early to make sure you get a seat. 7 p.m.

MUSIC: Fans of alt-country singer-songwriter type tunes will be well served by Three Stars alums The Moderate and John Bustine on the Black Cat backstage. $8, 9 p.m.

READING: Raed Jarrar will be at the Busboys and Poets in D.C. to sign and discuss a book called The Iraq War Blog, An Iraqi Family's Inside View of the First Year of the Occupation. 6 p.m.

MUSIC: If you like your indie rock poppy and contemplative, take a chance on two bands from Minnesota, Gospel Gossip and The Soft Rocks, plus on locals The Antiques at the Velvet Lounge. 9:30 p.m., $8.

MOVIE: The AFI Silver Theater is showing Lawrence of Arabia, complete with intermission, tonight at 7:30 p.m. as part of their ongoing David Lean retrospective. Take advantage of the chance to see one of the greatest, and longest, films of all time on the big screen.
