Weekly Music Agenda
TUESDAY
>> Just Another Band from East L.A.? We think not. Los Lobos join Los Lonely Boys to tear up Wolf Trap's Filene Center stage. $22 and $40, 8 p.m.
>> Three Stars alums The Moderate bring their humid Carolina alt-country back to the Black Cat backstage. With our own music editor Amanda's favorite local alt country singer, John Bustine. $8, 9 p.m.
>> If you're a fan of the TV show Lipstick Jungle — and who isn't? — then surely you know its title song, "The Bomb" by Hollywood's Bitter:Sweet They're at DC9 with Don't Be Glib. (DCist bloggers, take note.) $8 in advance, $10 at the door, 9 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
>> Margot & the Nuclear So and Sos have an ad for a certain ubiquitous fast-food chain new Southern Style Chicken Biscuit at the bottom of the homepage of their official site. Meanwhile, SPIN magazine opines that the eight-piece Indianapolis chamber-folk act's frontman, Richard Edwards, "has the kind of wounded-fella vibe that makes you want to take him home and pour him a mug of chamomile tea." In other words, SPIN thinks this band can make me experience something I've never, ever experienced before. Ever. They're at 9:30. With The Audrye Sessions & Rev. $12, 7 p.m. doors.
>> This glorious run of non-Code Red air quality days is predicted to sustain itself at least through midweek, when George Thorogood and Buddy Guy play Wolf Trap. It's two legends for the price of one! Okay, would you settle for one legend and the guy who wrote "Bad to the Bone"? $22-$40, 8 p.m.
THURSDAY
>>Hey, have y'all heard about this band, The Hold Steady? People keep saying they're like a hybrid of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Elvis Costello & the Attractions. In other words, this band has been genetically engineered for maximum appeal to, well, me. (The Jenny Lewis/Zooey Deschanel hybrid models? Still in development. Can we speed that up, maybe?) At 9:30. With The Loved Ones. Sold Out. 7 p.m. doors.
>> We're so sad to see ye go: This year's concluding installment of the Fort Reno concert series will feature The Jet Age, Yell County, and the newly emancipated John Davis's (late of Georgie James), Title Tracks. No booze or drugs allowed, and with a lineup like this, who needs 'em? Also, no glass bottles. Free, 7:15 p.m.
>> I don't like you, but I love you / Seems like I'm always thinkin' of you. Yes, you, Smokey Robinson. Wolf Trap. $25-$42, 8 p.m.
>> Thao Nguyen with the Get Down, Stay Down at the Black Cat. With David Schultz & The Skyline and Pepi Ginsberg. $12, 8 p.m.
>> That's funny, because I feel for you, too. Chaka Kahn plays the Warner Theatre with Musiq Soulchild. $59.50-$69.50, 8 p.m.
>> Pop Tarts presents American Idols Live at the Phone Booth. This probably has something to do with that TV show, American Idol, in which case this conversation, along with our friendship, is over. I remember when the Pop Tarts brand used to count for something. $42.50-$68.50.
FRIDAY
>> Does it feel a little Caribbean in here to you? That would be Soca Meets Raggae V, featuring Machel Montano and Friends, Shabba Ranks and Willow Wil are at DAR Constitution Hall. $65-$150, 7:30 p.m.
>>Over at The Red and the Black, it's the once-in-a-Friday triple bill of Michelle Burleson, The Adrian Outfit, and Ian Walters Project. $8, 9 p.m.
SATURDAY
>>Just a few short weeks after Pearl Jam last blazed through town, frontman Eddie Vedder kicks off a two-night solo stand at the Warner Theatre. Son-of-Neil Liam Finn opens. (And if you haven't seen Finn's Seven Worlds Collide video, wherein Eddie sings a couple of Split Enz tunes with Liam's old outfit with the unspell-able name, and Neil leads superband with Johnny Marr on guitar, and Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway of some Brit band on guitar and drums, respectively, well, you should do something about that.) $77, 7:30 p.m.
>> You can't bring that skateboard in here with you, Son: Direct from Omaha, it's The Faint at 9:30. With Sly Child and Jaguar Love. $20, 8 p.m. doors.
>> DCist faves Exit Clov headline IOTA. With You can Be a Wesley and The Toothaches. $10, 9:30 p.m.
>> It's Amazing Band Name Night at The Red and the Black, where Letzkus Lanou bring their acoustic minimalism to the top of a bill that includes Titus Adronicus, the Rosewood Thieves and Impossible Hair. $10, 9 p.m.
SUNDAY
>> Mike Love leads the Brian Wilson-less Beach Boys at Wolf Trap. $25-$38, 2 p.m. (What, no 7 p.m. reprise this year, guys?)
>> Rehab: Not just for quitters anymore. They're at 9:30, with Heavy Mojo & Chris Crisis. $15, 7 p.m. doors.

Vedder is on Saturday and Sunday, not Friday

Her mistake-fixin' mojo is as potent as her contempt for Glen Hansard. That would be the second correction of this already-very-long-seeming week by dcgrrrl. Thanks.

No hate for Glen Hansard here, but probably not my first choice for a baby sitter. And if he is like the only person you can get to babysit for you on short notice or something, you really should establish some groundrules: no guitar, no singing/songwriting, and no late night 'recording' sessions.
