So wait the city paid these kids summer jobs to make a 30 second video that probably took 10 minutes to shoot? And this was "One good thing to come" out of the program? Way to set those sights high!

now what would have been cool is if those kids had gotten training in video production, thus learning that you can promote positive change in your community *and* gain marketable job skills. not to mention learn about a job market where a college degree isn't an absolute necessity.

Can anyone else understand what the hell those kids are saying? I don't know if it's an Ebonics issue or if these kids' english is just so bad that they slur every damned word, but I can understand tech support guys in Bangalore, India better than those kids. I'm unsure as to why the vast majority of the commercial DEPICTS violence but the point is to decry it. Am I missing something here? Why are they depicting the violence itself rather than showing the alternatives. Remember those "Stop the Violence" and "Increase the Peace" campaigns MTV did in the 90's. Now those were actually good. Granted, it's not like I expect Seaton Place folks to have that kind of dough, but all this commercial did was provide me with 30 seconds of unintelligible garble.
