DNC Finally Starting to Get Bumpin'

I'm guessing this isn't on TV, but right now the entire Pepsi Center is rocking out to a live house band version of "Are You Gonna Go My Way," while the camera picks out notable folks (there's VP nominee Joe Biden!). The house is pretty packed at this point, and delegates are on their feet, dancing. Also, there's a contest posted on one of the big screens to determine which state or territory has the "best" delegation. So text "DNC DC" to 62262! (In a nice score for the District, "DNC DC" is actually the example shown on the screen for other states to follow.)

Are you or are you not wearing a read, white and blue boa.

Let us know how powerful the Kennedy video speech/video is in person. I can only imagine how amazing it must be.

They just showed a DC flag with "Taxation Without Representation" on the video feed I'm watching.

There sure are a lot of white people and black people. Where are the latinos and asians?

Oy. Why are you there, again?

See, this is exactly why The Yacht Club in Georgetown closed down. Nobody wants to see a room full of dancing geriatric liberals gettin they freak on.

If writing about the first day of the convention has been boring thus far, imagine how your readers must feel!

And they wonder why nobody participates in the political process. This sounds worse than any wedding full of drunk-ass aunts doing the chicken dance and the Electric F***ing Slide. Except it's better because EVERYONE'S WEARING BUTTONS! There's never enough open bar or eye bleach to take care of this nonsense.

Let's hope the GOP gets some stripper poles and hires some blond LNS charity mafiosos in thongs and porn heels.

I look forward to the breathless coverage (and 10 posts a day) as you live blog the republican convention as well.

krisa: sounds like you're not happy that sommer's in denver, eh? i'm not going to look back through the archive, but she said that she won't be going to minnesota because the RNC isn't giving the same blogger access to dcist that the DNC has...
