Caucasian-American NIMBY Tunnel Memorial? the white residents of vienna and mclean were the biggest supporters of a tysons corner metro tunnel.

Thank God there won't be another Republican controlled Congress. Otherwise we'd have a whole slew of stations named after Ronald "Shit for Brains" Reagan.

I really hope Jim Graham doesn't have any hand in naming the station. Otherwise, look forward to a "Tysons Corner/Route 7/International Drive/Caucasian-American NIMBY Tunnel Memorial" station name.

I wouldn't complain about 'Tysons 7'. It's actually somewhat descriptive (It's in Tysons, on Route 7) and thankfully brief.
As versus the stations which are descriptive but not brief (ie: 'U Street/Cardoza/African American Civil War Memorial') or those which are brief but not descriptive (ie: 'Vienna/GMU', which is near Mason only in the sense that it's closer than any other station.)

I hope all those silver liners don't come to Rustico, even though I agree with Monkey that it's the place to be. I don't want to have to fend off the "Tysons 7" when I want the picnic table...

Since Tysons West station is right on top of Eastern Motors, can we rename it “Tysons West, Where you’re Job, is your Credit Station”.

i want to know if metro will need to use eminent domain to build the route 7 station where the koons dealership is currently located. i think i'd rather sit in traffic than live without crystal wowing me.

I think the Silver Line should have been part of a large realignment of the orange and blue lines in general, in order to maintain the old infrastructure and keep up with capacity. The blue line should have been realigned over a new crossing from Rosslyn to Georgetown (or at least Foggy Bottom) in order to alleviate some of the problems.

I seriously hope they come up with better names for those Metro Stations. "Tysons 7"? "Tysons Central 123"? Wtf kind of names are those?

To transfer to the Blue Line to Braddock Road where they can get their beer on at Rustico?

Because unlike The Brickskellar, they actually have the beer you're looking for instead of your fifth choice.

OK so I may be an insensitive city dweller -- but what is going to happen when all of these Silver Line people converge on Rosslyn or Metro Center? Does WMATA really think they have the capacity in the REST of the system to accommodate however many additional passengers they will get from Tyson's/Loudon?

Maybe their models show that most people who take silver line won't go all the way into the city, who knows. They have run models, right? Right?
