I think the free food issue has to do with the changes in lobbying rules. They can't provide meals for elected officials, or anything that would replace a meal. Hence no forks, no spoons, nor anything that could be eaten with aforementioned utensils.

Pack powerbars.

Famous DC says via Twitter that they're getting so much free food, they're going to get "convention butt." Maybe it's all bacon and cheese cubes, but it sounds like there should be enough to go around!

hey, at least no one took your power cord, right sommer? that's looking on the positive side.

"remember to ask, 'excuse me, is that your cord?' security is everyone's responsibility."

You can also go old-school with Moleskin (http://www.campingsurvival.com/mopldrscpran.html).

It sticks like a mo-fo and is available at most drug stores. I swear by the stuff for covering and preventing blisters.

I discovered some amazing blister pads in Amsterdam after walking all over that city and Madrid: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=92511&catid=10579

They're little pads that stick for a day or two (and are even waterproof!) to cushion and help blisters heal. Look for the ones with "Compeed" technology. They're total lifesavers! Seriously...try them out and I bet you'll be happier. You can find them at CVS, or whatever drugstores they have over in Denver.
