Oh, can we have the Washington Post do a story about how people who live in the middle of f***ing nowhere and drive ginormous cars to haul their fat asses to work are having a hard time coping with $4 gas? Because I don't think I've seen one of those grace their pages before. And not just because I'm functionally illiterate.

and aaron, just because i kid lives in a ward doesn't mean they're necessarily in a school in that ward, especially when it comes to high schools. a lot of kids at wilson, for example, aren't from ward 3...just sayin'

I really hope the pay for school performance model doesn't work, because I'm not crazy about its implications for learning, but I'm glad they're trying it and I'm curious to hear the results.

While it lacks the bouquet and aroma of marmot sperm, ferret goo certainly beats the overall skunkiness and conifer finish of vole sperm. Although, I'd be inclined not to serve it cold. Like sake or armanac or even urine, fine aromatic spunks must be served at blood temperature.

I wonder how the PG County churchies will reconcile the evils of slot machines with their need to plug that billion-dollar defecit hole? More importantly, how much will the Bloods and the Crips skim off the top? Because their public outreach arm is pretty costly. Between them paying bills for retired folk, getting them food, and teaching their grandkids "the trade," DC could learn a thing or two about customer service from these guys. And those Latin Kings throw a mean block party cookout. Between the somosas, the pupusas, the barbacoa, the target practice, and the gangrape initiation, those guys have Chuck E. Cheese beat by a mile. Besides, it's not a gang, it's a club.

WTOP now says one person died in the Potomac house fire and they had no working smoke alarms. People please install smoke detectors in your home! They will save your life! And if you have smoke detectors check to see that they are NOT hardwired into the house. If they are they will do nothing if the power goes out. And that is your PSA for the day. That picture reminds me of The Red Balloon. Except, y'know, with an umbrella instead of a balloon. So sad when those nasty little frog s**ts killed the red balloon. But nobody cries when you kill an umbrella. They just sit there by the side of the road like a dead bird. One day all the dead umbrellas will rise up and carry me away from this place. One day...
