Ask DCist: What Happened at Thomas Circle This Morning?

We got a couple reports of a huge crowd of people gathered around Thomas Circle this morning, but by the time we got down there, no such crowd could be seen. A helpful security guard at 1120 Vermont Ave. NW filled us in that there was a fire drill in the large office building shortly after the work day began, so that probably explains the gathering. No big deal, in other words.

This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been instructed where to tune in your area for news and official information.

"Fire drills" are cool! They use them to drill a flaming hole in your head. And there's only one big toilet, and they make you all go at the same time.

I thoughts it wuz a Nicole Richie sighting

good ol' DHS ... they're protecting us you know!
