Dan Rather to Sit With Shadow Sen. Brown at Obama Speech

I'm waiting for the luncheon to begin, and while I have yet to spot the actors scheduled to be here, Shadow Sen. Michael Brown says former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather might be on his way here as well. Rather and Brown know each other through a mutual friend, and the veteran newsman is a proponent of D.C. voting rights, according to Brown. The shadow senator said he couldn't be sure Rather would make it to the event, but that he had said he would come. Brown also said he and Rather have definite plans to sit together at Invesco Field tonight to watch Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic nomination for president — though whether they'll actually sit in the D.C. delegation's section wasn't clear.

hey do you see David Hasselhoff anywhere? how about Carol Burnett? Don Johnson? that kid who played Webster? is Mikhail Gorbachev there? how about Lance Armstrong? is the chick who wrote Harry Potter there? is John Elway nearby? how about Tim Russert's son? Bill Cosby? Shea Leboeuf? Pete Coors? Jerry Seinfeld? the queen of England? are any of them around? hmmmm?

In other news, zombie Morton Downey Jr. will be seated next to John "Babydaddy" Edwards in the section marked "IRRELEVANT."

Please tell me that Dan Rather likes iced espressos.

I'd rather be reading something else.

I just found this picture of Dan Rather with Shadow Senator Michael Brown seated to his right. Shadow Senator Paul Strauss is in the background.

It was a moving night to be sure. A night that American politics has never before seen and a night that all of us will remember for the rest of our lives.

The night when a retired third-rate newscaster who was replaced by a morning show host sat with DC shadow Congressional delegation!!!!!!

I woke my children up to watch. They needed to see this.

Oh yeah, and some African American guy made a speech and won the Democratic nomination for President. I think. I don't know, I really was only paying attention to the main event of the evening, the political rebirth of Dan Rather!

What's he doing, lurking in those shadows...
