In case you missed Friday's special episode of The Daily Show, check out the video excerpt above to catch D.C. Council member Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) being interviewed by John Oliver on the floor of Invesco Field on Thursday night. Bowser's short appearance begins around the 46 second mark. Oliver and his crew taped the segment shortly before Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech in Denver, and it appeared as though Bowser and several other members of the D.C. delegation had no idea who Oliver was when he approached her.

for every 100 good daily show clips, there's a dud. we just happened to catch the dud.
You try being funny 100% of the time. Most times, I can barely drag my ass on the carpet trying to spell something funny in poo. And even then, nobody gets it. They just kinda scratch their heads and mutter, "No soap? Radio?" and look befuddled.
who cares what they're saying. wtf are all those people doing thrusting their pelvises in and out and clapping? they ALL look like my grandmother. embarassing...

I *like* Ms. Bowser. This clip obviously doesn't do her justice.
The one time I had business at her office, my ten minute wait let me overhead substantive and nuanced debate (on a transportation issue) between her chief of staff and whatever lawyer was advising her. I was actually proud -- I'd have doubted that reasoning ever occurred on a city council.
Though she may represent some 80,000 constituents, with such evident ignorance about the situation in South Ossetia, I don't see how Ms. Bowser hopes to be named McCain's Secretary of State...
