There are few things more fun than Galaxy Hut karaoke. Oh, I can think of a few things. Root canal. Butt rot. Waking up to find dental work where your genitals used to be. The buffet line at Junkpunchers on Surf-and-Turf night, where the servers huck 12-lb Maine lobsters and whole prime ribs at your meat-and-two-veg. Now, karaoke night at Recessions? Totally different. Big shriek for Rose, though. Kinda reminds me of a countrified Esmirelda minus the toilet. And I mean that in a good way.

Also, Wednesday has My Morning Jacket downtown at Constituion Hall. I have 2 extra tickets in the Orchestra for the show if somebody wants them (I've managed to upgrade myself slightly). I'm selling them at the $35 face value, and eating the tickemaster convenience charge if somebody wants to save me the minor hassle of posting them on craigslist.

This Wednesday's show at the Velvet Lounge is Stella Schindler, not Schneider. She's one of the most talented musicians I've heard in DC in a good long while.
