Banita Jacks Pleads Not Guilty

Via the Post, Banita Jacks pleaded not guilty this morning to first-degree murder charges in the deaths of her four daughters. A trial date has been set for Dec. 1, and her attorneys have 15 days to inform Judge Frederick Weisberg if they intend to go forward with an insanity defense. Jacks has also been charged with failing to provide the girls with adequate nutrition and medical attention. The decomposed bodies of the four girls, who had been variously beaten, strangled and stabbed, were discovered in a Southeast rowhouse in January. Authorities now believe they had been dead for six months before they were found.

time to watch the courts do their part. here's hoping that justice is served....though it's not going to bring anyone back

Of course she's not guilty.

I thought we determined back in January that their deaths were the direct result of gross negligence on the part of DC's social services.

At least that's what Mayor Fenty and the media wanted us to believe.

Maybe she's not guilty.

Maybe.

I banita drink after reading this story.

the devil made me do it

Um...I'd say that killing your kids and living with their decomposing bodies for 6 months is not so much a sign of a stable person. I'm pretty sure the insanity defense shouldn't be such a surprise...or a difficult defense.
