Calvert County Woman Kept Dead Daughters in Freezer
The Calvert County, Md. Sheriff's Department has arrested one Renee Bowman, 43, after discovering what appeared to be the bodies of two children in a freezer in Bowman's home over the weekend. Authorities went to the house responding to a report of child abuse, after neighbors found Bowman's 7-year-old adopted daughter alone outside the house, showing signs of abuse and neglect. When they searched the house, they found the remains, and Bowman allegedly told them that the bodies belonged to her two other adopted daughters, and that they had both been in the freezer since February. Bowman used to live in Rockville, in Montgomery County, but moved to Calvert County in February, so charges related to the bodies could ultimately be filed in Montgomery. Bowman is currently being held in Calvert County on charges of first-degree child abuse.
The case harkens back to the horrific Banita Jacks case, when in January authorities discovered the decomposing bodies of Jacks's four daughters in her rowhouse in Southeast D.C. It's believed the Jacks girls had been dead for six months before they were found. Jacks has since entered a not guilty plea and awaits trial.

Now, before you go and adopt a second or third child, you will have to check a little box on a form that says "I have not frozen, pickled, smoked, salt-cured, brined, flambeed, deep-fried, or otherwise treated my existing adopted children like a Thanksgiving turkey." Mark my words. That's just how bureaucracy works.
This makes me miss Philly--at least the child abuse stories up there were amusing, and usually involved duct tape or wine coolers. This, on the other hand, is just depressing.

please, if she let her children suffer horribly, she should too.
if she put her children in a freezer while they were still alive, then execute this woman.
i'm TOTALLY opposed to the death penalty, but christ, this is worse than banita jacks. i mean, this woman was pathological enough to freeze her children! disgusting.

Either Jacks pleaded NOT guilty and awaits trial, or pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing. There is no need for a trial with a guilty plea.

Just a pity... I have to admit however when i first saw this photo i thought that she was a corpse, then i realized that she was the murderer. Thats when i got angry...

how is it that a monster like this can adopt multiple children, when I have gay friends in committed stable relationships who have spent thousands of dollars and years of effort trying just to adopt one child?

Ramrodlevity, it's because gay people caring about children for reasons other than wanting to molest them is unnatural, whereas freezing the bodies of your children is totally norma... oh wait.

something obviously caused this woman to snap... you don't go from being approved to adopt three special needs children to beating them to death, locking the dead ones in the freezer and the living on in the house. this woman is lucid enough to admit to her crimes? what happened here? was there any follow-up by a case worker?
