Former Republican Senate staffer Kellie Boyle has put together a website called "Hockey Moms for McCain-Palin." The LM&O marketing consultant worked with a friend on the web site, which launched today. Boyle, a longtime Republican campaign volunteer, told ABC News that the organization is "pure grassroots," and unaffiliated with the national campaign it is named after, supports, links to and extensively quotes.
Boyle also told ABC that her son, presumably a local youth-hockey player, gave Sarah Palin a Washington Capitals jersey. What a stunning show of innocent generosity! Isn't it amazing how spontaneously our young people can feel the urge to give?
The idea of Sarah Palin wearing a Caps jersey for political purposes was actually parodied by Tim on Bleacher Report all the way back in August. We wonder if that inspired the gift.

was it an authentic jersey? because if it clears a certain value, doesn't that mean she'll need to worry about disclosing that on a list of gifts received, or something like that?
