Metrobus Route Changes Include More Frequent 5As to Dulles

2008_0929_bus.jpgA handful of Metrobus route and service changes took effect on Sunday, the most notable of which is an increase in the frequency of the 5A line, which travels between L'Enfant Plaza and Dulles Airport. Three westbound and three eastbound buses have been added every weekday, which is good news for anyone who regularly uses the often very crowded 5A.

The additional buses will leave D and 7th streets SW at 6:25 a.m., 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.; and Dulles Airport at 7:30 a.m., 3:45 and 5:45 p.m. As a result of the added service, the regularly scheduled buses that used to leave at 6:10, 6:50 and 8:15 a.m., and at 1:30, 2:10, 2:55, 3:35, 4:10 and 4:50 p.m., now leave at 6, 6:55 and 8:10 a.m., and at 1:25, 2, 3, 3:30, 4 and 5 p.m. From Dulles, the buses that left at 7:10 a.m., 2:40, 3:20, 4:05, 5:25 and 6:05 p.m. now leave at 7 a.m., 2:35, 3:10, 4:15, 5:15 and 6:15 p.m.

Check and see whether your bus route has also been adjusted.

positive change! that 5A bus gets pretty packed.

thats good to hear! now, if only the buses could find a way to drive over the top of the cars that clog up I-66 on the way out there...

well you could always throw a bus on a big ass lift and a set of 35's
