She lives in my building, and there is currently a show of her work in the lobby. How truly amusing, but what do you expect? She loves to take the piss out of all different kinds of icons, there's currently a parody of Red Guards, celebrities, the Kennedys — everyone.

Maybe they just didn't like the fact that her art is so bad. I guess that that touchy-feely earth shoe genre is a good cover for really bad art. This is especially profitable if you are black and angry. Angry black artists trump angry female artists when it comes to selling really bad art. An angry black female lesbian prison inmate could really clean up in this market. This also works if you are a Salvadorean graffiti artist, but they actually have some talent which probably disqualifies them - that and the fact that they could care less about the "progressive angst of pampered leftists.

I can totally sympathize with Skynear. I got the exact same reaction when I put up a mural of Bill Clinton sodomizing Israel with a nuclear-tipped cigar. I still have "The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bill(do)ing Bachelors Even" if anyone's interested, for a mere twelve-hundred quid, or six months imprisonment. A bargain at twice the price!
